The owners of this lovely home needed a multi-functional Spa addition that would allow for adult exercise & relaxation as well as grandchildren’s play.  The addition was required to allow light into the existing bedroom, office, and living room it would be built adjacent to, & needed to look as if it had grown organically out of the already distinctively designed house. 

The solution was a room with walls of windows  & a steeply tilted roof filled with skylights.  Glass doors & full-length interior windows allow the play of  light on water to ripple throughout the adjacent rooms of the home.  A small therapeutic pool & hot tub are each set at floor level, with plenty of room for fitness equipment & toys in between.  From the outside, the roof takes the form of a sheltering wing folded over the house.
